If my comic Dopyu Dopyu Kashi Girlz didn't make it too obvious, I love "bad" media. I love ridiculous insane media that barely have a point or story. Shit like Quest for Kokoro, Danny Smoke in Furryland, the recent Y/N trend, that kind of extreme satire is amazing. On the darker side of it, I love a few splatterpunk novels (at this moment, 100% match & the Wasp Factory are my go-tos for this theming though I like more) for the same reasoning. I think that a lot of these stories are deeper than just jokes, and I adore the phenomenon I see sometimes that the insanity and chaos and violence will cancel itself out, leaving nothing left but the core of humanity. There can be some really profound stories told with cringe.
As such, one day I found a fanfic on Archive of our Own titled Heart Stop, which is a spiritual successor to Nyan Neko Sugar Girls. It takes the form of an adventure RPG pixel game with original characters shoved in so smoothly that I had to check the wiki to make sure they weren't canon, with a dollar store Count Bleck from Super Paper Mario as the main villain. Also, Raku-chan has heart magic and Koneko-chan wields a wind sword. Color me a color.
TLDR: I am making this fanfic into a youtube animated series entirely created on mspaint with my non-dominant hand. I want to use my bachelor's in animation to make this an advanced level of bad, being incorrect in an expert way.
TLDR of the TLDR: adaptgaytion
I find this work to be truly fascinating. It is 68,000 words, all posted on the same day, and the original poster abandoned their account at some point after, maybe even immediately after. It is honest and gay, with a pacing that starts a little slow but is so exaggerated in its mannerisms that it is throroughly immersive and enjoyable the whole ride through. When you reach the last chapter, where a shadow man has killed everyone and is riding on a giant shadow cat beast that looks almost exactly like the form Raku-chan took after getting rabies and meeting God, you don't really blink. It's like if Kingdom Hearts had starred the NNSG cast instead of the Disney boiz.
It may take a few hours to read through, but I heavily encourage everyone to go read it. I've known about it for the last 3 years and I've reread it multiple times. You will understand my hype.
(keep in mind that these are the "good" verisons of the characters. They will be unrecognizable in the show)
